Robin Schwartz PR is a metro Detroit-based, woman-owned PR and video production company that helps businesses, nonprofits, and everyday heroes tell powerful stories in a variety of ways.
Since 2016, we’ve served hundreds of businesses and nonprofits and have helped tell stories that have been seen around the world. We’ve secured media placements on The Ellen Show, in People Magazine, the TODAY Show, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, Fox News, ESPN Magazine, CNN, The New York Times, Fast Company Magazine, The Rachael Ray Show, and countless local news outlets in Michigan and across the country.

Robin Schwartz
Founder + CEO
Robin Schwartz is a 15-time Emmy award-winning storyteller dedicated to uncovering, producing and promoting the untold stories that touch our lives.
She is the founder and CEO of Robin Schwartz PR. Robin started the firm after 23 years as a TV news anchor/reporter, including nearly 17 years at WJBK-TV (Fox 2 News) in Detroit. In 2014, she shifted her focus from reporting the news to working directly with newsmakers themselves as PR Director for Dan Gilbert’s Detroit-based real estate company. That big career move ignited Robin’s entrepreneurial spirit and inspired her to launch her own PR and video production firm in 2016. Robin is a graduate of Syracuse University. She and her husband live in metro Detroit with their “one good egg” who was born after Robin’s struggle with infertility.
Joseph Harris
Director of Photography
Multi-Emmy award-winning videographer, editor & photojournalist Joe Harris has more than two decades in TV news and video production.
He is a former videographer/editor at Fox 2 News in Detroit where he worked for 12 years from 2003-2015. Via Robin Schwartz PR he has created videos for BCBSM, the Downtown Boxing Gym, LA Speech and Language Therapy Center, the Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter, the Detroit Jewish News Foundation and the Bethel Community Transformation Center, among others. Joe has a wide variety of cameras, lenses, drones and other equipment to capture video from all angles. He has expert level video production skills and is a 2001 graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications.
Grayson Beras
Director of Photography
Grayson Beras is an Emmy award-winning videographer/editor who studied film and video production at Grand Valley State University.
He has owned and operated his own video production business for many years. Grayson has a flair for capturing and editing beautiful, moving video using multiple different types of cameras, including drones, plus lenses, lights, audio equipment, stabilizers, a teleprompter and more. He is a certified and insured remote pilot. (He even helped a client fix a flat tire on a shoot!) Grayson says, “Messing around with my dad’s camcorder in middle school is what inspired me to study film and video.” He certainly found his calling, and we are thrilled to collaborate with him on numerous projects.
Amy Oprean
Sr. Communications Specialist
Amy is a curious, enthusiastic storyteller with 15 years of experience as a journalist and PR professional. She has a degree in journalism from Michigan State University and is
passionate about the environment, social justice, and building a better world for all. Amy has been telling stories since elementary school and has honed the art of finding the “gems” of a story – the intriguing parts that hook people and make them want to learn more. Amy also has a humorous streak – for years she performed improv comedy at theaters around Metro Detroit and produced and hosted the monthly storytelling show “Let’s Just Say.” Amy amplifies client stories by telling them in the most interesting, engaging light, helping clients grow their audiences, achieve fundraising and sales goals, and build momentum.
Kathy Bilitzke
Writer/Strategist/Brander
Kathy Bilitzke is an award winning writer and passionate aligner of brand goals, messages and experiences.
A seasoned content planner and developer, Kathy has strong chops creating and implementing strategic and engaging communication activities that support an organization’s business or mission goals. With deep experience in healthcare, the automotive industry, nonprofits and startups, she has developed and activated brand-driven digital and social content, blogs, testimonials, internal communications plans, news releases, white papers, speeches, messaging platforms, brand guidelines and more. A team player and detail chaser, Kathy collaborates with Robin Schwartz PR in a variety of ways to help achieve our clients’ storytelling goals.
Marisa Marco
Marketing/Graphic Design
Marisa is a talented graphic designer and marketing professional with more than 18 years of experience working in marketing/advertising.
She is creative and resourceful, and her skills cover everything from strategy and copywriting to graphic design, UX/UI design (and other things in-between.) Marisa and Robin met while working together at an amazing Detroit nonprofit. Today, they collaborate on various projects for Robin Schwartz PR clients developing a wide variety of storytelling tools including social media graphics and flyers, email blasts, newsletter design, banners, reports, handbooks, strategy, and more.
Bre’Anna Johnston
Photographer
Bre’Anna Johnston is a freelance photographer and Detroit native who collaborates with Robin Schwartz PR.
No matter what she’s capturing, she loves working with businesses and nonprofits to evoke emotions, ideas, or concepts to help them acheive their goals. At heart, she is a foodie, having owned a commercial baking business. Bre’Anna loves to capture the little moments and details of the labor of love that is cooking. When she’s not capturing candids or solving problems with a can-do attitude, she’s studying for a bachelors in Data Analytics at the University of Michigan or listening to music with her dog, cat, and turtle.
Shelby Anderson
Storyteller
Shelby Anderson is a driven, hardworking storyteller with a passion for writing and producing powerful stories that make the world a better place.
An accomplished broadcast journalist who appeared on air at TV news stations in Lansing, Mich., Knoxville, Tenn., Cleveland, Ohio, and Seattle, Washington, Shelby currently leads communications for the Washington State Department of Health’s Environmental Public Health Division which includes supervising a team of content creators responsible for internal and external communications. She is pursuing an M.S. in Marketing from Syracuse University and is a proud Central Michigan University graduate. Shelby collaborates with Robin Schwartz PR, producing outstanding written content for numerous clients.
